Cape Point and Penguins - 1 Day

Cape Point and Penguins tour Cape of Good Hope

The Cape of Good Hope is located on the Southwestern tip of the African continent. Join us for this scenic drive around the Cape Peninsula where we showcase the extraordinary landscapes of one of the most beautiful places in the world, thriving with flora and fauna unique to this coastline.

THE JOURNEY starts with a leisurely drive along the coast through Camps Bay and Hout Bay. Our first stop is at the Famed Chapmans Peak Drive, a spectacular highlight on our tour. Initially constructed during the First World War, this 9km route with its 114 curves, skirts Chapman’s Peak, the 593m high southerly extension of Constantia Berg, and follows the rocky coastline to unfold breath-taking views in both directions. It is often referred to as one of the most scenic drives in the world.

We continue South along the western side of the Cape Peninsula. Driving along the coast through Misty Cliffs and Kommetjie, yet another awe inspiring coastline rich in natural beauty.

We continue on to Cape Point Nature Reserve at the southernmost tip of the Cape Peninsula. The Benguela currents that run from the Indian Ocean, meet with the Atlantic currents in a truly awesome setting. Wildlife can include ostrich, impala, baboons and the Cape dassies.

We then head along the Sunrise Coast of the Cape Peninsula to Simons Town and the famous Boulders Beach, home of the boulders beach penguin sanctuary, where you can experience the fantastic scenery in close proximity to the penguins. We will also stop for lunch at one of Simon’s Towns famed beachside restaurants.

We then head north along the Sunrise Coast and up to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. You will have the opportunity to stroll through this famed botanical gardens and get a chance to witness the rich flora that makes the Cape Peninsula a wonder of bio diversity.

We then head towards Cape Town city centre, and if time permits, a quick stop up Signal Hill for a unique photo opportunity of Table Mountain and Cape Town.

Finally we will meander back through Cape Town City and through the colourful houses of Bo-Kaap and back to the Cape Town Cruise Terminal where we say Bon Voyage and thank you for exploring Cape Town with us.
